PROGRAMS

Every program at SPI is tailored to the idea that everyone is an athlete. Your sport may be marathon running or gardening, and you may be 16 or 67; but no matter what, “strength and conditioning” is the means by which we thrive in sport and in life. So whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, increase athletic performance, maintain
fitness or fit into that new swim suit, we have a program for you.

SPI offers any type of personal training program imaginable. Come talk with us, and we’ll match you with one of our expert trainers who will best serve your needs.

We can help you achieve any goal be it weight loss, general fitness, athletic enhancement, aerobic/cardiovascular conditioning, strength development, power training, decrease body fat, build lean muscle, specific sport training and more.

All programs are uniquely developed to your needs. There are no “cookie-cutter” “onefits-all” programs at SPI! Personal training programs may include all or some of the following: functional-movement training; increasing mobility, stability, flexibility, balance; cardiovascular and muscular endurance training; strength development; imbalance/ deficiency correction and restorative exercises; core/ shoulder stabilization protocols. Programs are tailored to your individual needs and progress as you improve.

For the athlete: We offer sport-specific personal training to develop specific energy systems and train movements used in your sport or activity. We specialize in most athletic sports and activities including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, triathlon/ endurance sports, running, swimming, cycling/ mountain biking, gymnastics, hockey, tennis, golf, dance, track and field and extreme sports includng skiing, snowboarding, surfing, motorcross, etc.

Prices for personal training vary; please contact SPI for details.

A. VO2max Testing

SPI offers VO2max testing for the athlete looking to fine-tune his or her training. This test measures cardiovascular fitness by looking at one’s ability to take in and utilize oxygen for the working muscle. VO2max is particularly important for aerobic and endurance athletes such as triathletes, runners, cyclists, swimmers, rowers, etc. A high VO2max is the key to success; the more oxygen you can use, the better you’ll perform.

Knowing your VO2max can allow your training program to be tweaked and tailored specifically for your needs. With such specificity of training and appropriate progression, you will have better performance in competition. You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from this test… So whether you’ve hit a fitness plateau and stopped making progress, you want to run your first run a 10K or you want to PR in your next race, a VO2max may be your answer to successful training and racing.

B. Rehab & Reconditioning

Rehab

For those recovering from injury—whether serious or minor—SPI has the resources to get you back in the game. We provide the next step to full recovery after you’ve been released from physical therapy and/or you have received permission from your PT to start a strength and conditioning program.

With rehab, our goal is to restore normal function of affected areas, as well as improve strength, mobility, stability, balance and flexibility. Strength and conditioning are customized to individual needs.

Reconditioning
Reconditioning refers to the transition between physical therapy rehabilitation and return to an active lifestyle, which covers movement, strength, power, energy-specific development (ESD), flexibility, stability and training. A warm-up of dynamic flexibility and mobility is incorporated prior to each training session. The client will go through an active isolative stretch routine after each session. Skillfully selected therapeutic exercise ensures the manual therapy gains carryover into increased function.

C. Nutrition

In progress… More to come on meal-replacement stuff, nutrition counseling, etc.

D. Cardiac Testing

SPI offers Echo and EKG cardiac screenings at our facility each month in conjunction with Holly Morrell, founder of Heartfelt Cardiac Projects.

Why Test Your Heart?
A comprehensive cardiac screening, including both an Electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) and an Echocardiogram (ECHO), can alert you to risks associated with certain serious cardiac diseases. These two tests are generally considered to be the most effective screenings available and may help uncover serious heart conditions that potentially can lead to Sudden Cardiac Death.

Pricing
Screenings $85 per person*

*Normally such testing is priced from $500 to $1,500, but Holly created a nonprofit, community service program to offer screenings at a discounted rate.
